Spring Designer shoes from top fashion houses are making a noteworthy debut on the catwalks and what glam girl could resist such a worthwhile investment.
The era of elegance seems to be upon us with fashion giant John Galliano transporting us back to the understated sophistication of post-World War One and the jazz influences of the 1930’s. His collection was inspired by 1920’s and 30’s American Blues singer, Bessie Smith. Elegant pumps and soaring but incredibly refined platforms do the vocal legend justice. Delicate leaf patterns adorn the toes of your feel rising into a delicate arch finished with a dainty stalk heel. The shoes are presented in timeless and wearable colours like nude, cream, red and brown that can be worn to the office, parties or casual outings.
Louis Vuitton has also leapt in a time machine with his offering of Parisienne 60’s and 70’s chic. Slip on one of his raised, wedge trainers and you will be the epitome of designer but sporty fashion.
Then there’s the Nicholas Kirkwood spring 2012 collection.
His flowery cotton wedges, faux straw backed wedges and black sequined heels carry an aura of comfort along with a touch of class. The shoe designer stated in an interview to Vogue, that a trip to Bali inspired his collection. He said: “A spring garden of bold prints and colours form the basis of it - which is adorned with ornamental decoration. There is a focus on volume with floral forms evolving into unravelling bows that lift elegantly off the foot.”
However, if you are after something completely different check out the Hello Kitty limited edition Patsy collection available in black and bronze. These are sold in Europe and the US, via lovepastry.com for $100 a pair.
The trainers are completely comfortable but beautiful with butterfly bow decoration and bright white under-soles. In an interview with Yin and Yang, Vanessa, the designer said: “I was a Hello Kitty groupie. I’m such a fan of the brand so it’s such an honour to collaborate with them”.
